Self- discipline is the correction or regulation of oneself for the sake of improvement. It is a vital phenomenon that all individuals need to put in place. The reason why some people do not succeed is because they failed to discipline themselves. Hard work is necessary and self-discipline is more essential for long term successes. Self-discipline entails setting goals and attaining these goals at the particular time you have set for it. Be organized and be ready to sacrifice immediate pressure because you are hoping to build a better and prosperous future.
Warrant Buffett says “We don’t have to be smarter than the rest: we have to be more discipline than the rest’’ this means that for you to grow, you compete with others and what makes the difference is your self-discipline. You need to make a scale of preference daily, monthly, yearly and keep to it. I beseech you at the end of it you will be amazed with what you have achieved over a short period of time.
Elaine Maxwell equally says “My will shall shape my future. Whether I fail or succeed shall be no man’s doing but mine, I am the force; I can clear any obstacle before me or I can be lost in the maze. My choice; my responsibility; win or lose, only I hold the key to my destiny’’. I support her opinion that our destiny should be in our hands. We should be ready to reap what we sow be it good or bad because the end results will matter only to us individually. Therefore the act of self-discipline is self-reliance on your achievements.
Furthermore, J.K Rawling says “it is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities”. I also buy his judgment because it is the part that you take that will determine who and what you will be in future. Therefore, it is necessary to make profitable choices among your abilities, in order to build a better you. This implies that, the choices you make, you should be able to discipline yourself to pursue your goals which will give you the ultimate thing in life called HAPPINESS.
Finally, there is that inner joy that you feel when you realize that you have attained your objectives through your personal hard work. I love this by Oprah Winfrey for she says “Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you”. The vision that burns within you does not need much to be attain. I think we really just need self-discipline at some instances to make a brighter future.
