  1. The Sex Allegory and other poems.

This poetry collection by Louisa Lum, happens to be my favorite book ever read. After reading these poems, I was very impressed by the openness and clarity of the subject matter not forgetting the diverse use of styles which makes the poems pretty nice and also in pointing various societal problems directly.

  1. Unanswered cries.

Osman Conteh the Sierra Leonean writer really touched me right deep in to my heart. I totally agree with you Conteh, Female circumcision is a taboo but some people still don’t understand every human being has that right to decide on what happens to their body. Your heroine is a great one, really loved her revolutionary mind.

  1. The widow’s might.

I must admit John Nkengasong is one of my best masculine writers because of his tone on realism. His use of literature for didactic purposes is amazingly great. Just like Across the Mongolo, The Widow’s might outstands realism in every instance.

  1. Fanny’s first play.

Samuel Becket’s play is fourth favourite book. The lesson Becket gives to lousy critiques who don’t want to leave the past way of thinking is just enough for me to like his book. For it is said the only thing that is constant is CHANGE so move on as the world evolves.

  1. Animal Farm.

George Orwell’s Novel is one that can never be forgotten because his Allegory on power is even much more obvious in our contemporary societies. It’s hard to taste power and leave it so in order to preserve our reign, we employ Tyranny.

  1. No way to die.

I totally agree with you Linus Asong, why should Denis die? Let him get up and work and stop lamenting like a nagging wife. Linus Asong’s message goes to everybody for the only way to succeed and be happy is through hard work. Stop expecting manner from heaven.

  1. To the lighthouse

Virginia Woolf should be worshiped for her courage. Being one of the pioneer of Feminism which was not easy at all in the early 20th century. Why should women not write, paint, or work? However, Woolf in her novel makes us understand that “what a man can do a woman can do and even better in some cases” as the women earn up successfully.

  1. The importance of being Earnest

Oscar Wilde’s humour and absurdities were just enough for me to like his book. Laughing is a good thing, it makes you delightful.

  1. A question of power.

Bessie Head ’s autobiographical Novel left me in tears. Why should just one person face the whole life’s obstacle and trouble? Sharing your pain is one way to solving it so do like Head perhaps you will feel better putting your story down to encourage Others.

  1. Son of the native soil

The suspense Ambanasom uses is wonderful and captivating. Romantic Love in this novel kept me awake and eager to read. Though with a sad ending as the protagonist dies, the novel leaves an important message to the audience.
